5 Words Elton John Wants Written on His Gravestone as He Admits, ‘I Don’t Know How Much Time I Have Left’

Elton John has faced numerous health challenges since 1975, yet he remains devoted to his children, Elijah, 11, and Zachary, 13. In an October 2024 interview about his documentary, Elton John: Never Too Late, the 77-year-old pianist opened up about aging and his kids’ concerns. They worry because of my age,” he shared. “They love their Daddy and want me around forever. I hope to see them grow, marry, and have children, but I cherish every moment now.”

Reflecting on his health struggles, Elton humorously noted, “I don’t have tonsils, adenoids, an appendix, a prostate, or several joints—but I’m still here.” Recent issues include hip surgery, a severe eye infection causing vision loss in one eye, and knee surgery earlier this year.

Despite past battles with addiction, infections, and cancer, Elton declared himself a “survivor.” He shared that the five words he’d like on his gravestone are: “He was a great dad.”
