D-Day veteran reunites with French Love 75 years later

This heartwarming story shows how love is strong and can transcend country borders, oceans, and even language difficulties. In the film, we get to know World War II soldier K.T. Robbins. He’s kept a photo of the girl he fell in love with during his war years in France in 1944. He remembers their love, seventy-five years later.

The two had only spoken briefly in France, when K.T. was a soldier stationed in her town. They were abruptly separated when the war effort transported them all to various regions of the country. They would meet 75 years later, albeit they were dearly missed.

After hearing about his story, K.T.’s family looked for the mysterious woman in the photo, only knowing her name was Jeannine Ganaye. Luckily, they found her at a retirement community in France and quickly arranged for her and him to reunite after all these years.

“What kept you from coming back sooner?” Jeannine asked. K.T. answered succinctly, stating he had moved on, found a new spouse, and begun a family. Because Jeannie had five children from her marriage, her story was similar. Even though they raised their families separately, they were obviously special to one other.
