Curtis Hanson, Larry Spiegel, and Mardi Rustam’s 1985 film *Evil Town* provides an intriguing look at the eccentricity and ingenuity of 1980s horror movies. This obscure film holds a unique place in the history of the genre even though it was never a box office hit.

The narrative is set in a sleepy, picturesque community that appears normal from the outside but conceals a dark secret. With a serum created from young people’s cells, the elderly have discovered a way to extend their lives. To get this serum, they kidnap naive guests and drain their life essence, leaving behind soulless shells.
