A British schoolboy experienced a harrowing encounter with a few sharks while on a family trip in the Caribbean, triggering an urgent rescue effort amidst a feeding frenzy.

Eight-calendar year-outdated Finley Downer was having fun with a getaway in The Bahamas with his family members when the horrifying incident occurred in the course of an excursion to Compass Cay.

The family, like Finley’s father Michael, 44, and his siblings Lily, 9, and Emily, 12, had embarked on the trip, which also provided swimming with pigs.

In accordance to accounts from Finley’s mom Kerry, 40, who is divorced from Mr. Downer, the tragedy unfolded when holidaymakers started tossing food stuff scraps into the h2o, attracting a group of nurse sharks. Unaware of the potential risk, Finley ventured into the water as section of the tour, only to be viciously attacked by the sharks, the Guardian claimed.

The distressing scene remaining Finley with critical injuries to both equally legs, with significant chunks of flesh torn away. Mr. Downer described the ordeal as “like a scene out of Jaws,” including that Finlay had begged: “Dad, I do not want to die.”
