Michelle Obama’s mother Marian Robinson passed away early on Friday morning.

It was eighty-six years old.

Robinson died peacefully, according to a statement from his family.

“As a mother, she was our rock, a serene and nonjudgmental witness to our victories and setbacks,” the statement said.

Michelle Obama said in a different statement that her mother was her rock.

The woman tweeted, “Always there for whatever I needed.”
