A child dials 911 seeking assistance from police officer.

We usually advise our children to dial 911 in the event that they require assistance. However, one young student elevated the lecture to a whole new level!

The boy decided to ask for assistance because he was having trouble with his homework. He picked up the phone and phoned 911, since that was the only number he knew. Are the individuals on this number really in need of assistance? Yes, in fact. He was probably correct elsewhere, too.

The answering operator started out by posing the usual queries. After a protracted period of miscommunication, the operator found that the child actually struggled with math issues.

Operator: 911 emergency

 

 

 

Boy: I really do need help.

 

Operator: What is the issue?

 

Boy: Doing some math on this.

Operator: Are your lips moving?

Boy: avoiding utilizing my math. I have to finish it. Will you be of assistance to me?

Operator: All right. Which city is your home?

Boy: I’m not good at math.

Operator: You’re correct; I get it. However, where do you call home?

Boy: No, I would much rather talk to you on the phone.

Operator: I can’t manage it. I can send someone else to help you.

Boy: All right.

Operator: What kind of mathematical issues are you experiencing difficulties with?
