After Trashman Babysat My Kids for 25 Minutes, I Hired Him To Be A Full-Time Nanny

Babysitting Crisis

Really, they weren’t in error. However, they didn’t have to place me in this circumstance. So yet, only Vicky has accepted. When I was regularly scheduled at work, I usually paid the local creche through the ceiling, but today I was unable to rush them in.

“Opal, I apologize. I have no babysitting today,” Vicky said when I called. “I’m sick and can hardly move.” I hung up the phone and advised her to go get some sleep.

Enter Bob, the Neighborhood Hero

Abruptly, I heard every child calling out, “Uncle Bob! Uncle Bob!”

I exhaled. There was no uncle for them. My kids loved the local garbageman, Bob, and they called him Uncle Bob because of his kind and friendly demeanor.

A Surprising Offer

I saw them having fun with Bob and had an idea. I hurried over to him. “I have an insane request, Bob. Could you watch my kids for twenty-five minutes? I have something urgent at the hospital, and I have no one else.”

Bob smiled and nodded, “Yes, Dr. Sanders. I can keep an eye on them for a little.” My kids cheered and leaped.

An Unbelievable Return Home

Three hours later, I rushed home. “Hey, Bob! I apologize,” I yelled breathlessly as I opened the door. And then I froze. My house, once full of chaos, was now spotless. My children were quiet.

Bob emerged from the hallway, “Lucy is napping, and Christie and Johnny are reading in their rooms.”

A Hidden Talent Revealed

“How did you do this?” I asked, stunned.

“Oh, Dr. Sanders. I used to raise children as a single father. These three angels were not nearly as wild as mine,” Bob chuckled. “I told them stories about fairies and taught them how to clean up after themselves.”

A Life-Changing Decision

I quickly realized that my children needed someone like Bob in their lives—a caregiver who treated them like family. I offered Bob a full-time nanny position with triple pay, and he accepted.

With Bob’s help, I grew closer to my children, and they became more manageable. Bob was truly a blessing in our lives, a hero who came when we needed him most.

The Lesson

Even the most energetic children can be transformed with the right care and attention. Bob, like an angel sent by the universe, helped Opal’s family heal after her husband’s death.
