It all started with a birthmark called Nevus of Ota, a blue-gray patch across her face. While medically benign, this birthmark represented a struggle for self-acceptance for Carlotta. From the young age of eight, she used makeup to hide it, spending two hours each day in front of the mirror. But her challenges didn’t stop there.
