The fatal incident occurred Saturday afternoon on a state highway in Ogden Canyon, when a mini bulldozer came loose from a tow truck and fell onto the family’s GMC pickup truckAccording to the Utah Department of Public Safety, the bulldozer became detached as the tow truck made a right-hand turn. Richard and Sally, who were traveling in the truck while towing a boat, were both pronounced dead at the scene.Hendrickson was the president and CEO of Lifetime Products, a well-known company specializing in outdoor furniture and recreational goods.The company released a statement expressing its deep sorrow over the loss of its leader, noting that his wife and two other children sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the accident. A third daughter was reportedly abroad at the time.“It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of our CEO and President, Richard David Hendrickson, in a car accident,” Lifetime Products stated.This tragic event also took the life of his daughter, Sally.”Utah Governor Spencer Cox shared his condolences on social media, describing Hendrickson as a close friend and an exceptional leader.We are heartbroken by his tragic passing along with his daughter Sally,” the governor wrote. “We grieve alongside his family and hope they find solace and healing during this difficult time.”Those who knew Hendrickson remember him as a visionary with a strong technical background and a passion for innovation.
