Bynes acknowledged her parents for “really helping me get back on track” at the time, stating, “I’ve been sober for almost four years now.”

Her decision to terminate her conservatorship was approved by her parents, Lynn and Rick Bynes. The former child actress is protected by conservatorship as of 2013. Her guardianship of the land came to an end in 2017.

On March 22, 2022, Bynes released a statement through her attorney David Esquibias. It said, “I have been working hard to improve my health so that I can live and work independently, and I will continue to prioritize my well-being in this next chapter.” “I am excited about my upcoming endeavors — including my fragrance line — and look forward to sharing more when I can,” the actress said, speaking about taking back control of her life.
