On social media, Katy Perry announced the tragic loss of one of her managers.

On Thursday, the 39-year-old singer showed Martin Kirkup some of her personal photos as a token of appreciation.

Martin was 76 years old when he died.

The Dark Horse vocalist insisted that because Martin was so special, she had to compose a song about him even though he detested social media.

Writing this post took a while for me.For some reason, everything feels final once it’s uploaded. Katy shared a statement on her Instagram. In addition, even though Martin detested social media and the news it spreads, I can’t emphasize enough how important he was and still is in my life.
