Grocery Stores from Long Ago We Still Remember

I hope you’re ready to take a trip down memory lane with me because today we’re going to reminisce about those long-lost grocery stores that were once such a big part of our lives. Who could forget the aisles filled with delightful products, the quirky store mascots, and the catchy jingles? It’s funny how those little memories still linger, isn’t it?

 

Picture yourself walking down the aisles of Kohl’s Food Store, that gem from the 1950s that eventually transformed into the department store we know today. Or how about Colonial Stores with their famous CS Rooster logo? It’s hard to believe they were once one of the largest supermarket chains in the US, operating in 11 states!

And who could forget the family-owned Mars Supermarkets in Baltimore? I remember being drawn to their stores by the tale of their unique name, inspired by the Mars Flying Boat. It’s a shame they couldn’t keep up with the competition and had to close their doors in 2016.
