It should come as no surprise that Kate Middleton and the British royal family are the center of attention while she battles cancer.

The Princess of Wales faced criticism for withholding information about her whereabouts and general well-being until she decided to make her condition public. As a result, a great deal of conjecture and hearsay made their way into the headlines of international periodicals and the media.

The Palace didn’t say anything during that period, simply making one statement in which they said Kate was doing fine.

The pressure on Kate and the Palace increased after the controversy surrounding the Mother’s Day photo she posted on social media and revealed to be Photoshopped. Both specialists and regular people were shocked by the discovery.

Eventually, Kate made a video public discussing her health and revealing that, following her scheduled abdominal surgery, examinations revealed the existence of cancer.
