Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest: A Love Story That Transcends Time

A Book Inspired by Adoption

Curtis’s second book, “Tell Me Again About The Night I Was Born,” was inspired by the adoption of her eldest daughter, Annie. It’s a heartwarming tale that touches the hearts of both children and adults alike.

A Connection Forged in Love

Curtis and Guest have been happily married since 1984. Their love has stood the test of time, and they celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary in December 2022. Curtis often expresses her appreciation for her husband, emphasizing the strong emotional bond that connects them through triumphs and tragedies.

Manifesting Destiny

Curtis once shared a charming story about the moment she knew she would marry Guest. She saw his photo in a 1984 issue of Rolling Stone and pointed at him, telling her friend that she would marry that man. Fate played its part, as the very next day, they crossed paths and embarked on their lifelong journey together.

Creating a Home

In 1992, Curtis and Guest found the perfect place to call home, a stunning 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival house. With the help of architect Michael B. Lehrer and designer Jan McFarland Cox, they transformed it into a harmonious blend of old-world charm and contemporary aesthetics.

The couple made sure to add personal touches throughout the house, reflecting their unique tastes and the presence of their children. It’s a place where love, inspiration, and beautiful memories thrive.

Keeping the Flame Alive

As empty-nesters now, Curtis and Guest find comfort in spending quality time together. They have learned the true meaning of “home” from each other, understanding that it’s not just a physical space, but a feeling of safety and belonging.

Curtis once wrote a song for her husband, expressing how she feels safe when she sees him at home. It’s a simple yet profound sentiment that encapsulates the enduring love and companionship they share.

A Journey of Acceptance

Curtis couldn’t be prouder of her children. Annie is now married, and Ruby has embarked on a journey of self-discovery, transitioning into her true identity. Curtis has learned from Ruby that gender is not fixed, expanding her understanding and acceptance of others.

In a beautiful display of love and support, Curtis officiated Ruby’s wedding ceremony, celebrating the joyous union with pride and happiness.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest’s love story is one that inspires and warms the hearts of those who hear it. Their commitment, resilience, and shared experiences have created a home that truly stands the test of time.
