KBLA Talk 1580 Radio Host Robin Ayers Dies at 44 Just Days After Celebrating Her Twin Daughters’ 18th Birthday

The entertainment and radio community is mourning the loss of Robin Ayers, a celebrated KBLA Talk 1580 host and veteran entertainment journalist, who passed away at the age of 44.

On December 7, KBLA Talk 1580 announced the shocking news of Robin Ayers’ death. Travis Smiley, representing the station, shared a heartfelt message on X.
“On behalf of her precious family, it is with profound sadness that KBLA Talk 1580 announces the passing of our beloved colleague Robin Ayers on Thursday, December 05. Robin was a bright light. You could see her radiant smile through the radio,” he wrote.
Smiley went on to praise Ayers’ character, calling attention to her “immense talent,” “jovial spirit,” and “faith in God.” He added, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Robin’s entire family, most especially her husband Rob and her twin daughters Brooklyn and Madison.”
Ayers was a dedicated mother and would often share glimpses of her family on social media. Just days before her passing, she took to Instagram to celebrate her daughters’ 18th birthday.
To mark the occasion, Ayers reposted a nostalgic video she had recorded for her daughters’ 16th birthday. In the video, she proudly declared, “I told my kids today, ‘Listen, it is your birthday and we are going to celebrate you all day. It’s about you but it’s about me too boo. You gotta share that.'”

She captioned the post, “This video aged well!! Happy 18th birthday to my daughters @madi.ayers06 and @brose2734 but we’re celebrating too!!”

Ayers and her family marked Thanksgiving and the girls’ birthday with a trip to New York City. They explored Times Square, took in the sights of Central Park, and posed for scenic photos that showcased the beauty of the New York City skyline.

In one of the images, the family was seen beaming together at a restaurant. She captioned the image, “NYC with the fam! Celebrating Thanksgiving and the twins’ 18th bday!” The joyful family moments captured in the photos now stand as cherished memories of Ayers’ last days with her loved ones.

Her passing has deeply affected the entertainment journalism community, where Ayers had long been a respected figure. Ayers had been a familiar name at EURweb.com since around 2015, where she built a reputation as a passionate reporter and dedicated storyteller.
Her work was noted for its depth, accuracy, and relatability. Her former colleague, EURweb’s founder and publisher Lee Bailey, shared his sorrow over her passing.
“Along with the EURweb staff/family, I am deeply saddened by the passing of Robin Ayers. Her passion for storytelling and unwavering commitment to truth brought depth and authenticity to her work. She was not just a colleague but a friend, and her impact on EURweb and the lives she touched will never be forgotten,” he stated.
Ayers later joined KBLA Talk 1580, where she became the host of “The RA Report,” a weekday evening show that aired from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Her program became known for its engaging approach to entertainment news, timely updates, and insightful interviews with high-profile figures in the industry.
Listeners valued her ability to connect with her guests and with them as an audience, making her an integral part of the KBLA family. Her career also included roles as an entertainment correspondent, writer, and podcast host, showing her dynamic skillset.
For now, the Ayers family has requested privacy as they grieve, and supporters have been asked to keep them in their thoughts and prayers. KBLA Talk 1580 has promised to pay tribute to Ayers at a later date, ensuring that her contributions to radio, journalism, and entertainment storytelling will not be forgotten.
