King Charles III Gives NEW Title To Prince William

King Charles III announced earlier this week that his eldest son would take over as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, despite the fact that Prince Harry was the one who actually served with the unit in Afghanistan.

The Independent claims that if Harry’s father hadn’t quit his royal duties, he would have succeeded him in his 31-year-old role.

Both Harry and William are licensed military pilots; however, Harry was part of the Army Air Corps on his second tour to Afghanistan.

William did not take part in any combat flights during his time in the military; instead, he flew air ambulances and search and rescue operations.

“His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales will formally take over as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps from His Majesty the King. After His Majesty’s Accession in August 2023, the King was happy to announce military appointments, among them the Prince of Wales’s appointment as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps. His Majesty the King served in that capacity as Prince of Wales for thirty-one years prior, according to a statement from Kensington Palace.

The announcement coincided with Harry’s visit to the UK to mark the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games.

A duke’s representative confirmed, after much speculation, that Harry would not be meeting his father due to the king’s “full programme.”

“The duke, naturally, hopes to see his father soon and is understanding of his diary of commitments and various other priorities.”

Harry reportedly made a hasty trip to the UK to spend forty-five minutes by his father’s side as soon as he found out about King Charles’ cancer diagnosis in February. The two didn’t see each other again after that.

Would Harry have been hired if he hadn’t quit, in your opinion?
