  • 5 heaping tablespoons finely chopped nettle leaves (fresh or dried)
  • 100 g unsalted lard

Preparation:

  • Melt the lard and add nettle, simmering until it forms a custard-like paste.
  • Apply several times daily.
  • For best results, cleanse the skin beforehand with a cotton ball soaked in lukewarm chamomile tea.

This ointment heals wounds, bruises, and cracked or damaged skin.

Alternative Nettle Ointment Recipe

Melt 250 g coconut oil in a water bath, add three handfuls of fresh, finely chopped nettle leaves, and simmer until thickened.

Remove from the heat and let it infuse overnight. The next day, gently reheat and strain into a clean jar.

For a warming effect, add hot pepper to the oil while still hot.
