My Blood Froze When I Opened My Husband’s Drawer the Day after Moving in with Him

Inside the drawer, Freya found a key and some love notes. In a series of letters to Elena, George shared his deep romantic past and his aspirations for their future together. The last letter was written three days before George proposed to Freya. After finding the key, Freya entered a dusty attic filled to the brim with images of George and Elena, including a scan of their newborn son through ultrasound.

 

“It’s Elena, my sister,” Valerie said. She disclosed that, upon discovering their child had Down syndrome, George had abandoned Elena, viewing them as an inconvenience. George’s sister attested to the fact that his favorite room was the attic.
