My parents insisted that I give back my new bed and use the money to help fund my half-sister’s car purchase

At a family dinner, Jason’s new mattress sparks a furious dispute. His mother demands that he return his half-sister’s car in order to pay for it. It’s me, Jason, and I’m eighteen. I’ve been suffering from this pounding backache for years, and it just gets worse. As a result, I decided to do something. In order to get a new mattress and bed, I started working a part-time job and saved every penny.

Asking my parents for help was not an option. They have always placed a higher priority on my younger half-sister Ashley and our foster siblings Everett and Natasha. It’s been five years since I felt invisible, but I’ve adjusted.
