Owner Takes Down ‘Offensive’ Flag Inside Restaurant Amid Controversy

The proprietor of Buckhead’s Okay Café in Georgia, Susan DeRose, has eliminated a Ga flag and banner from her cafe soon after it sparked controversy for a long time. DeRose made a decision to auction the things off and donate the money to the police drive, stating that she understands that the flag and banner can be offensive to some men and women.

Witnesses applauded when the flag was taken down on Friday. For a long time, the flag has been a level of contention, with some viewing it as a symbol of civil legal rights progress, while many others take into consideration it a racist indicator. Isabel Johnson, a chief of Buckhead for Black Lives and a scholar at Ga Tech, stated that she was glad to see the flag removed and seen it as a optimistic move to reforming the restaurant to make it extra welcoming to all.

On Sunday, Johnson and many others marched earlier the cafe and noticed a sign and tea social gathering stand in entrance of the restaurant.
