People are burning their Labubus after learning of disturbing conspiracy theory

Labubu dolls, known for their toothy grins and quirky charm, have taken the world by storm. Created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung and released with POP MART in 2019, the collectible toys are inspired by The Monsters book series. Fans line up for hours and spend hundreds to get their hands on them — but some are now desperate to get rid of them.

A disturbing theory claims Labubu dolls are linked to Pazuzu, an ancient demon from Mesopotamian mythology and the villain from The Exorcist. While the resemblance is vague, believers point to the creepy smile and claim the dolls carry dark energy. The theory has taken off on TikTok and Twitter, unsettling once-devoted collectors.

One TikTok user, @jessicavibezx, filmed herself burning her Labubu, writing: “DO NOT BUY LABUBU. THEY ARE CURSED AND WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE.” She teased a follow-up, saying what came from the box wasn’t a toy, but “a scourge of souls.” Other users echoed her fear, warning others not to bring the dolls home.

While many brush it off as online hysteria, the theory is enough to spook casual buyers. One user wrote, “We’ve got enough inner demons. Who needs an expensive one?” Whether cursed or just creepy, Labubu’s reputation is shifting. The trend may still be booming, but some fans are thinking twice before bringing one home
