Within the diving community, Quan Hongchan, a 17-year-old Chinese diver, is starting to gain some popularity. A video of her incredible performance from the Montreal 2023 Diving World Cup has returned to the internet. At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, she took home two gold medals, her most recent event earning her a flawless score of ten. It makes natural that the crowd was amazed and in awe of her abilities.

During one dive in particular, Quan stuns witnesses with a “back three-and-a-half somersaults tuck.” Even more astounding is the fact that she enters the water without making a splash. A video of this incredible event has gone viral on social media, and many people have voiced their awe at her clearly supernatural talents.

Quan’s achievements at such a young age are proof of her commitment and labor. With an overall score of 425.60 in the women’s 10m platform event, she was able to win four of the five dives. Her countryman Chen Yuxi won the silver medal with 420.70 points, while Kim Mi Rae of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea won the bronze with 372.10 points.
