The conversation then turned to Red’s name, and he told a funny story about how he came up with his middle name, Bernard. Red’s teacher had asked him for his middle name, and he didn’t know it, so he made one up.

Red also joked about his wife’s cooking, and the audience couldn’t stop laughing, and Johnny was in awe of Red’s quick wit and humor. Red’s appearance on ‘The Tonight Show’ was filled with laughter and showcased his comedic talent.
