Senator Delivers Reflective Farewell, Urges Unity and Civic Responsibility

Senator Mitt Romney delivered his farewell speech, calling his six years in the Senate “an honor” and praising bipartisan camaraderie. He thanked colleagues from both parties for their friendship and cooperation, highlighting key bipartisan efforts on COVID relief, infrastructure, and gun safety.

Romney credited his success to teamwork, especially a “Group of Ten” senators who worked closely on major legislation. He expressed gratitude to his wife Ann, calling her his “most trusted adviser,” and acknowledged the support of his staff and family.

Though Romney admitted he didn’t achieve all his goals, he left with a sense of accomplishment and concern over the growing national debt. He warned against divisiveness and urged unity, emphasizing that America’s character reflects its people.

Romney concluded by pledging to return to Utah as a “voice of unity and virtue,” earning a standing ovation from fellow senators.
