The Blonde Bikini Bombshell: Whatever Happened to Bo Derek?

Bo fell in love for the first time at the age of sixteen with the director John Derek, who would go on to become her husband. At the time, she was married to Linda Evans. They began dating just a few years later. But in order to avoid the strict American regulations, they had to go to Mexico and Europe when Bo was still a small toddler.

Soon later, John and Bo Derek, who were 48 and 19, respectively, tied the knot. Bo stated in an Interview Magazine interview that she frequently felt guilty when Linda was around.Bo remarked that I had some minor responsibility for the severe pain Linda Evans endured. She had been really thoughtful and courteous. I can’t believe I saw her yesterday. We were at a jewelry trunk show for charity. Her amazing and charming nature had not changed. I always feel like sh*t when I’m with her. Deeply ingrained even after years.

Following that, John and Bo Derek began collaborating on projects. John would get her to show off her body in an attempt to liven up his low-budget productions. This helped his films gain attention, but more importantly, it benefited Bo, who was already well-known in Hollywood.

John Derek served as the inspiration for her braided hairstyle.

John Derek created the braided look for the movie “10,” while not having directed or created the film itself. It was his suggestion that Bo show Blake a handful of his photos so the man could judge them only based on appearance. She most certainly did. “Considering that I’m blonde and everything was fluffy, how are you going to change the way you look?” Back in the late 1970s, I wondered. “John is an amazing photographer, and I always thought that would be a terrific look for me,” said Bo Derek. And we tried it out. “Why don’t you show Blake these photos and see if he’ll be interested?” he said at that moment. It would be ideal for the role and you would look amazing in it.

Sadly, in 1998, John Derek’s heart disease took his life. He was seventy-one years old when he died. Bo stated that following his death, she never imagined she would speak with anyone again. The loss had devastated her.

Bo Derek, the Equestrian and Humanitarian

Bo Derek’s early passion for horseback riding seems to have precedence over her later years of fame. Even though her career as an actress was at its peak, Bo made the decision to give it up. Instead, she became an animal rights activist and defender. She worked very hard to ensure the animals’ well-being.

Bo Derek is not simply an animal enthusiast. She was also named an honorary chair of the National Rehabilitation Special Events by the VA.”VA’s National Rehabilitation Special Events support the restoration of the body and soul, enhancing the independence and quality of life of veterans,” says Derek. He claims this. “I am deeply honored and moved to serve as the honorary chair of a truly noble cause on behalf of America’s veterans once again.”

Bo is currently married to John Corbett, the star of “Sex in the City.” They have been together for more than 20 years. They decided to keep the public unaware of their covert marriage, only telling their closest friends and relatives.
