However, Blake Edwards’s 1979 movie “10” is mostly responsible for her real ascent to stardom. Her distinctive blond braided hair began to show at this point. After this one, she made the decision not to pursue a career in thrilling, audacious action films. Among them were the movies Ghosts Can’t Do It (1990), Bolero (1984), and Tarzan, the Ape Man (1981).

Soon later, John and Bo Derek, who were 48 and 19, respectively, tied the knot. She most certainly did. “Considering that I’m blonde and everything was fluffy, how are you going to change the way you look?” Back in the late 1970s, I wondered. “John is an amazing photographer, and I always thought that would be a terrific look for me,” said Bo Derek.And we tried it out. “Why don’t you show Blake these photos and see if he’ll be interested?” he said at that moment. It would be ideal for the role and you would look amazing in it.
Sadly, in 1998, John Derek’s heart disease took his life. He was seventy-one years old when he died. Bo stated that following his death, she never imagined she would speak with anyone again. The loss had devastated her.
