Emily decided to accept the body she now inhabits and began to turn gray at the age of 19.In the video, she stated, “I’ve never had Botox, I’m not wearing makeup, I’ve never had any work done,” adding that the bags under her eyes were caused by her small son’s restless nights.
Making An Estimate
Many people made guesses and were wrong. One woman guessed, “I’m 57 and I think you’re my age, maybe a few years younger.” One person stated, “You’re in your mid-40s,” while another concurred. “It’s the fine lines around your eyes, the frown lines, your skin, and your grey hair.”Surprisingly, a few people continued to take a chance and guess incorrectly even after she revealed her true age of 36.
Someone commented, “You look great for a 55-year-old.”
To be kind, I’d say you’re 37, but you really appear to be 44. Another person replied, “It’s the skin under your eyes and your hair,” to the elderly woman’s query.
“36 approaching 60. One man said, “You are still very gorgeous; it’s probably your hair that makes you look older.”
On the other hand, a few people in their late 20s and early 20s accurately estimated her age. Emily uploaded a follow-up video because she was taken aback by the variety of reactions she got. “Someone believes I’m 58, although they’re only 35. Do I really appear that old? like I’m getting close to retirement? “I think it’s important to remember that what you see on social media, what you see on television, or what you’ve seen in magazines, and people have said this for years, is not real,” the woman said in response to the query.
Accepting Aging
Out of frustration, the mother from Sydney launched her own sleepwear brand. She wants to “fight the endless anti-aging campaigns on social media” and eradicate the stigma associated with becoming older.
I started Dawn & Dusk Co. because, in my opinion, pajamas are the best way to feel comfortable. All else seems to fall into place when a lady is at ease. Emily revealed. When she isn’t constrained by her need for acceptance, she is capable of incredible things. My goal is to encourage women, regardless of age, to accept their inherent beauty and feel secure in who they are.
It’s interesting to note that she is not alone in embracing age. Many women have gained notoriety for speaking out against the stigma associated with aging. A number of celebrities have also spoken out against ageism in Hollywood and the wider world by using their platform and voice. Jane Fonda, Ted Danson, and Sharon Osborne are a few examples. They’ve made the decision to age gracefully, letting their gray highlights show.
